In 1994, Deguchi Norio directed 3 productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream simultaneously for the Shakespeare Company in the Tokyo Globe Theatre.
The three productions - each with the same cast of actors, but in different settings or backdrop contexts - were staged consecutively over a single month.
For the first productions, the setting was a school (School Version) and for the second, a bar(Bar Version). The third production used no setting or background context at all. Instead the production was staged virtually in the round with the actors wearing half-masks(Mask version).
