more inventive in its reading of the 'twining woodbine'
text, though the strained scissor-like criss-cross position
seems to invite further interpretation.
Apuleius' "The
Golden Ass" is probably as much of a source for Deguchi as
for Shakespeare, most obviously in the Bar version
(Bar 39.
