deliver his lines. The chalk circle is now clearly
associated with the moon. All important action has taken
place within its ambit.
The boyishness of
this fantasy is emphasised. The Bar version (Bar 48.
Puck at Bar) provides a less innocent alcoholic image
for this moment.
